Rob, I think you should try it: you know, maybe run up a couple of bulkheads or something. I've done three boats, including a Shooting Star clad in a double layer of 3.2 glass, with Raka, and always used a roller, with a wide foam brush for tip-off: Raka and rollin'. It works fine for me. No problem with bubbles remaining in the resin, and lots of open time to push things around and get them right. I've gotten very light boats from this method, and the glass appears to be tight to the wood, with no floating. It's a fast method, too. I couldn't get the squeegee to work for me: wrinkles, glass floating, uneven coating, slow, etc. YMMV, as they say.
