: I did this just last week. I glassed the inside of the deck. Then I
: built the riser out of wood strips and trimmed it to the
: underside of the deck. I attached the deck to the hull (via a
: sheerclamp). I trimmed the riser to height and built the lip
: from a glass layup. When the lip was finished, I glassed the top
: of the deck and let the glass extend down over the hull for a

To me it sort of depends if you're doing a cockpit recess or not. On my last boat I cut out the cockpit recess first, then glassed the deck and recess together, then cut out the cockpit and did the riser. I always glass the underside of the deck after the coaming is done so I can connect the glass underneath to the coaming riser.
