No worries, I figured what you were saying, but I was trying to lead him down a different, much happier path! LOL I still think after wetting out and getting some UV the color will all even out to a pale to dark orange. I remember when I did my deck strips and used pine as highlights. A few people said "Don't use pine, it turns orange." But hey, what do they know, and besides, I actually had already bought the pine. Go figure, they were right. It turns orange. It looks good, don't get me wrong, but not the defined white stripe I would have gotten with white cedar, holly, or basswood.
