Material: Waterproof canvas...

I want to make some of my own deck bags. I like cloth not rubber and over the tears Ive seen what looks like water proof canvas. Whats the deal here? Is it rubberized on one side? Im pretty sure it was canvas or possibly denier? Where would a fella purchase such water proof cloth? Ill be stitching it together.
