Strip: Mini block plane
I have been looking for a light weight small block plane for beveling strips. Went to HD and found a 3" long plane with a 1.25" wide blade made in china for Buck Bros, cost $8.95. I had to flatten the sole and sharpen the small blade and add a microbevel. I would have preferred a smaller mouth on the plane but at $8.95 and 8oz it is very comfortable to use for long periods for tough grain situations I can still go to my Lie-Neilson block plane.
I would recommend a look at this tool for anyone building a stripper.
