Oh wow Jay we are dating ourselves aren't we? I recall when those cars were CURRENT growing up in Queens as a young boy. Seems like every half dozen driveways had one. Seemed that way, I m sure it was less. Dad at the time was into VW bugs and then the Bus. Everyone else had station wagons we had the bus. Loved it as a kid.

Its nice seeing the car kept all clean and maintained like that. I applaud your engine rebuilding Malcolm. Car mechanics and me dont mix well. When Ive done it , the aggravation that would ensue was always the downside. I can change the starter, front disc brakes, coolant piping alternator, regulator and even then Im swearing at it. Being a car mechanic and a good one like yourself is a gift.

Im super glad to see you didnt do the Hong Kong gig. Interesting waterways and islands to be sure but no St John or Thomas type thing.

Itd blow my mind if I kayaked over a ray. The ominous dark shadow would make my hair stand on end. The other day out of New London I saw another sub leaving , conning tower cutting through the water with ease. Now thats a helluva fish to paddle over too I suppose ;)
