I bought an old Great Auk off craiglist a year or so ago (a steal at $300) that i used while i built my Night Heron. Now that the Night Heron is complete i've stripped the Auk down to the wood and cut/rebuilt the coaming. I'd like to add a little warmth to the otherwise plain pine/cedar deck (there might be an accent strip but its 10 years old and faded entirely). I saw in Nick use a dye when refinishing his Petrel and was curious if anyone (or you Nick :) knew what is used as a dye to get the deep red hue? I've never used dye on wood so any advice/beware of's would be great too!
