Et have you tried Peruvian Walnut? It's much lighter weight than American and it is consistently dark chocolate throughout. It wets out almost black. Very beautiful in contrast to lighter strips. Seen below next to quilted "sinker" maple, flamed maple, and bubinga- wet with alcohol to show color.
