Like Et, I glass the joint inside the cockpit.

I've done this a few ways now (sheer clamp on hull before and after glassing and sheer clamp on the deck). They all have plus and minuses.

This last build I glued the sheer clamp to the deck during the stripping and then glassed it after. Joining the deck to the hull was like snapping a plastic Easter egg together. Tight joint with perfect alignment. I'll definitely be doing more like this.
