: What reasons do you have to change to West 207? I have used MAS
: w/slow hardener for all applications with success. The MAS does
: have a slight tint to it but as a novice builder
: I like this because it helps mask staples holes and strip/sanding
: mess-ups. Following Rob Macks instructions for wet out to the
: letter, I find it wets out right away when I apply the
: epoxy. No mess no fuss. The only thing I do that is different to
: Rob Macks instructions is I stick the jug of epoxy and hardener
: into a bucket of hot tap water and the viscosity is like
: water even after mixing. Super fast and thorough wet out.
The reason I use West is that MAS is not available locally that I know of and West has worked for me on and off for 30 years.
I also found that having the resin and hardener warm makes it easy to wet out fast - of course I never really had a problem. But I did like the evenness that the epoxy wet out making all the areas the same thickness. This was even more beneficial when I was filling the weave on a second coating application.
