Depends on how you're building your boat - I used an external strongback, so was able to just glue those two last strips together, then strap them onto the outside of the hull then use a sharp pencil to transfer the shape of the 'hole' from the inside of the kayak directly onto those two strips. That's probably going to be harder to do with an internal strongback - but maybe not impossible..
: My hull is almost done. I have the two finish pieces to put in. The
: ones that are straight on one edge and curved the entire length
: on the other. Does anyone have some pointers for me? I was
: getting good cutting and fitting the others end to end. I did
: them all with no scarf joints. :)
: Also need some ideas on how to fix up my stripping short comings. I
: have a few seems that are not as tight as they should be.
: Another one where the top portion of the pointed end split off
: and disappeared. I have a little “V” shaped chisel used for
: carving. I think I can cut a “V” groove and then glue a
: piece of wood back in. This should fix up most. But that pointed
: one has me thinking………….
: Thanks
