Carbon fiber is a good friend of mine. I used a bunch of carbon padeyes, hooks and other bits on the past build. Uni-directional tape is handy also. It makes great stiffening beams.

For installation you HAVE to spot sand each location down to the epoxy. I use a P80 sanding wheel chucked into a Dremel. Don't forget to also roughen up the back side of the carbon bit. That can not be smooth either. Thicken the epoxy with fumed silica (eg cabosil) and you'll have years of trouble free service.
