: Lovely day in the Adirondack region of New York State, U.S.A.,
: mostly overcast, and windy. But the overcast made the
: temperatures perfect, and the wind blew the mosquitoes away when
: we were out on the ponds. We had lunch out on the water due to
: the voracious nature of the mosquitoes in the wooded carry
: paths. As we paddled out in the late morning the campsites were
: less than 10% full. But as the afternoon wore on and as we drove
: out of the area in the afternoon, we saw many more canoes and
: kayaks. This will be a busy Memorial Day weekend for these
: ponds. We saw about 10 loons, all adults, no chicks.
