I reread the thread and remembered your post Bill, so with the hull'inverted I checked the ply bottom with a straightedge and guess what? It has a slight compound curve. Rocker one way, about 1" as designed. It was intended to be flat athwartships, but there is a curve in that direction about 1/8", just visible to the eye. It looks rather nice actually, and probably was introduced when I was adjusting the beam, which must have been coming out a fraction too wide. The ribs didn't bend, so the ply did.

Good job it wasn't the other way, that would have thrown an ugly shadow with the light in the wrong direction! it's a cautionary tale about keeping flat bottoms flat not concave! Whew!
