I would expect that it will pop on you the first time you roll. However, so long as you have practiced your recovery, are wearing immersion gear and have a partner that knows how to help, I would try it. It probably won't work, but spray skirts will pop even if they are properly fitted. Being able to recover from a surprise skirt pop is an essential skill, so in my mind this is a win win.

Just don't go alone and expect to get wet.
