I used it when I needed more clamoiing pressure than regular masking tape could provide, and when holding the deck to the hull when bonding them together. I had some brand X type but ran out soon and to get somemore. I found the Scotch brand (3M) "Extreme" 2" wide tape to be well worth the money. The fiberglass strands are woven and there was no adhesive residue.
