: rescues - one advocates the use of decklines while the other
: doesn't. As for the latter, it's not really that difficult to
: perform a PF rescue without the use of the lines. You just put
: the paddle directly aft of the coaming, hold it there by
: clamping your fingers around the paddle and your thumbs under
: the coaming lip. It may take a little practising but it will
: become easier.

: It's good to know how to perform this rescue without the lines
: because not all boats have the decklines/bungees set up to hold
: the paddle.

Hi Sean, I agree, make sure you can do a line-less rescue. Though I put an extra setup behind the cockpit as the plastic yak only had perimeter lines aft. I put a heavy bungy line there, parallel to the perimeter lines and forming an X between them. That gives three points of pressure on a paddle use to brace.
