: Just so you� know: you can do a cowboy rescue with a paddle float
: and instead of 5 tries it would have been one.

: You hump your middle over the boat holding the paddle / float
: towards your feet side holding the paddle and the cockpit
: together. Then as you lift a leg over the boat to get in the
: cowboy riding position, you now have the paddle float held
: across the deck for stability. As you work your way towards the
: cockpit, you hold the paddle and the coaming at the same time
: and slip on leg over the paddle, then the other and slide into
: the cockpit. Doing a cowboy rescue is actually a pool exercise
: but that's about it. Unless you have a very wide and stable
: boat, it's just to easy to capsize back in unless it's calm -
: but then you wouldn't be in the water.

Unless you have a friend and you're doing it with a paddle bridge, and then it's a lot faster than a T-rescue if your goal is to get back in the boat as quickly as possible.
