Having been a woodworker for 40+ years I have been through many brands of power tools. I admit I am the biggest abuser of tools there is. I leave my power tools out in the rain, back over them with my truck, drop them from high places etc, and Sears tools seem to take the punishment. I have the Porter Cable driver and the chuck problem is annoying. I put Black & Decker in the same class as the former Ryobi, JUNK. But when both of the batteries for my Porter Cable set died a week apart in the middle of a job I sent my wife to HD to buy a new set. She came back with an 18v Makita set, driver and small impact driver and so far I am impressed. They get used almost daily and after 8 months I have no complaints. They are smaller and lighter than some of my old 12v drivers and the charge lasts. I am currently installing wood fencing and have driven over 100, 3 inch screws into 4 X 4 posts and have not had to recharge yet.
