Suzie,
I neglected a stick and glue to the point where I had to take off the glass and start over. As careful as I thought I was there are "features" clearly visible due to going back and redoing the coatings. Mine will never be original beauty, but people still like it cause its clear finished wood. Do you need to peel the glass? The only way to tell is to start removing finish gradually, wet it down and see what it looks like. I found damaged epoxy sands off as a distinct yellow instead of whiteish. Mine continued to be yellow down to the wood. But the best thing about that is you don't have to learn a new skill to completely replace the glass, you already did it once before.
I used a belt sander 60grit to get to where wood was occasionally showing, then went to 120grit, then 150 on a palm sander. Heat gun works also, I just didn't use one.
Have fun.
: I built an artic tern about 6 years ago. It has a few scratches, ok
: alot & I left it out in the sun too much. I would love to
: bring it back to it's original beauty! Suggestions
