Hi G....I already have the center on the rear deck and 3 strips either side. I'm just wondering how I can get the strip that will eventually extend beyond the pit to the rear deck straight. The maple I have for the job is nasty. There is a section in it that must have been near a limb because it is anything but straight! The grain has a bit of swirl in it at that point. I guess I will have to use a string to lay out where it needs to be. And then check and see if it is parallel to the rear deck strips.
