: OK....dumb question of the day. For those who don't remember, I
: started this project 5 years ago. I purchased the wood, built
: the forms and got everything ready to go. Life happened and I am
: just getting it built now. That being said.......wait for it.
: Why do I have these "notches" on form #9 ?? I know the
: tops are cut off so they can be removed easily when I strip the
: cutout. But that notch is killing me. The wood I'm using on the
: deck is about an inch wide and the twist is going to be fun
: enough.
: Thanks
: Mike
So from my build also a guillemot I know that form 9 did not have that notch. That being said when it was time to cut out the coaming recess and then re strip in prep for cutting out the coaming hole itself the tops of form 8,9,10 are broken off and removed in order to re strip for the coaming. When I tried to remove these three pieces the ends where stuck right good because of the shape of the deck and seeing yours with cutouts seems like a decent idea as loud as they don't interfere with getting fair lines in that area.
Hope this makes sense
