Anything is possible ;-) .... there area some amazing stripping patterns out there.
One thing to consider is the 'shutter' strip (the last one on each side). If you work out from the center that will be a narrow/'pointy' strip near the edge of the deck.
If you are working 'in' from the edges (working up to the straight strips you have already laid), then you can sometimes get the gap at the end to fall inside the cockpit area (or at least be hidden under the coaming) which can eliminate or simplify fitting the last strip. It depends on the shape of the boat.
