I've cut a lot of glass in that manner but the CF is a different animal, more brittle and harder to cut through

: Nick has a great method of getting clean edges using green tape -
: to use it for the coaming lip you would have to do it in a
: separate step for each piece of CF.

: You put the tape over the previous strip at the end, then start the
: next piece of cloth just overlapping the tape, so that the ugly
: edge is on the tape. When the epoxy is green (set but not hard -
: you can still dent it with your thumbnail) you carefully cut the
: cloth just on the edge of the tape and pull the tape up.

: Repeat for each piece, and you will have clean, straight edges for
: all the overlaps.
