Good point Rod. Yes, using Nick's method of a continuous internal fiberglass tape from bow to stern you would have a mess if you tried to use hand-cut tape.

For my lightweight BP's and race boats there is no glass tape from the end of the cockpit to the ends. The cockpit area ALWAYS gets a reinforcing layer of glass. That is also hand-cut bias. It's all reachable (barely) through the cockpit though.
