: My epoxy, hardener and all solvents are stored in an Ice chest in
: my shop. From what info I've gathered, I am assuming that
: opening and closing the hardener container exposed the hardener to
: excess oxygen causing it to oxidize - discoloring the
: hardener. It might be a good idea to buy the hardeners in quart
: containers. This info was given to me by Eric - technical
: support at MAS. Yellowing does not impair the quality of the mix.
: But it makes me feel insecure about using it.
: When West Marine exchanged the hardener for me the manager said
: that he does not think West Marine will continue
: carrying MAS due to it not selling enough to warrant stocking it in
: there warehouse. So, I may be going back to RAKA.
It's one of the things I like about West brand epoxy, comes in metal cans, not plastic.
Doesn't matter if it's stored with the mini-pumps installed though, save the metal caps too. I duct tape them to the cans so I know where they are.
