Good guess, means you don't have to fight to get wet, sticky fiberglass tape into the ends where you can't reach.

The partial sheer strakes do have to be fitted to the deck carefully so that the epoxy will actually bond to it, but that can be done with the hull/deck unattached, much better access :)
