I did some boat repair yesterday with yellow RAKA fast hardener at least 8 years old and it worked perfectly.
I've also used epoxy that was crystalized solid that I heated up to dissolve and It worked perfectly.
As far as cans: I also had some real old WEST hardener that was black and it worked perfectly. For a larger job it wise to do a tiny test first but for me, I never had epoxy fail unless I filp flopped the ratio ( which I did once ). You never make that mistake again.
