Skin-on-Frame: Rustoleum "professional" hairline cracks/pinholes *PIC*

Hello everyone,
Just like in this post by Aaron H
http://www.kayakforum.com/cgi-bin/Building/index.cgi/md/read/id/166879/sbj/skin-on-frame-skin-dye/
it's been about a year since I built my kayak coated in flat black and I have the same hairline cracks/pinholes (when I carry the kayak it looks like constellations in the cockpit...). In some areas along the keel, gunwales, chines and stem plates it has peeled off and amazingly no serious leakage (maybe 1/4 water in 4 hrs).

I am not reskinning anytime soon so I am inclined to get regular enamel oil based rustoleum (satin black or leather brown), sand, coat twice and forget about it... Any opinions/experience on such???
Thanks
Gustav
