Jeff,

Could you post (or link) pictures of your boat (sort of before/after)? I am trying to figure how I could maximize knee space while minimizing deck height. I am thinking perhaps a squarish deck, a bit like the Petrel:

I still have to decide how to do this (steamed masik like E. Ogata's? three-part wood masik? Aluminum? fiberglass?).

: Raising the foredeck doesn't really change much, it does change the
: windage some so you don't want to go a lot higher or the boat

: cockpit room, but that can be whatever you want, I had a
: standard keyhole skirt (and cockpit cover) that I wasn't using
: so I made the cockpit to fit that skirt. Boat does have amazing
: secondary stability, but you can get that with a round bottom
: boat too, having a single chine means very little in that
: regard.
