So if I use soap I am assuming it should be the smallest amount that can be effective. Given the treatment of our Tennessee River water I may not need any soap (some days I fill the coffee pot from the tap and the water has a slight foam in the pot).
By mild soap, do you mean something like a small amount of Ivory liquid (dish soap)? Or would you use Simple Green or an organic castile soap? There was a time when finding a "mild soap" was easy, now everything has stuff added to make it "better" for a specific purpose but worse for general use.
