Most people with SOF's add a short rub strip to the bow and stern ... starts on the stem and wraps around to the keel. These can be made outa all sorts of stuff ... left over rib stock, brass, plastic ... whatever ya have that resists abrasion. I use 1/4" ABS on mine.

Some folk also decide to add a full length rub strip ... some add it to the keel/stems and others also add it to the chines. One way to do it is to simply thicken up some epoxy with cabosil or some other filler and butter it on directly to the cloth. Ya just mask out the area ... butter it on and shape it by rounding it off. Rather than filled epoxy some people use PL Premium Polyurethane Construction Adhesive. Some of the folks that use this method claim it effects handling less than other styles of rub strips ... like I said before ... I can't speak to that because I don't use a full length rub strip on my SOF's ... but if I did ... I'd use this method.
