One mm perhaps in thickness. It goes around the curves fine. I used a heat gun along the full length to ensure that the adhesive did its job properly and this enabled the plastic to conform easily. I stopped below the waterline for cosmetic reasons, but I don't really get damage on the stems above the waterline.
