I concur with Will and Brian.
I have yet to jamb my new skeg arrangement that is still on the center line. I attribute this to two things: 1.) I launch stern first, 2.) There is about 1/8" of slop between the skeg and the walls of the skeg box, each side. Slop was anathema to a recovering furniture builder, but I am over that now.
Putting the skeg off center an inch was an idea I stole from someone else on this board (forgotten who), which I have yet to try.
