I got creative when I installed the footpegs in my latest Spring Run. I really like the footbraces in my Wenonah canoe and I happened to have some aluminum tubing that Wenonah had provided to me when a set of footbraces did not fit correctly. Anyway, you can see from the pic that I bolted the tubing to the back of the footpegs to give me a brace across the whole width of the kayak. The tubing is in two pieces of different outside diameters so they slide into each other and allow me to adjust the footpegs back and forth and auto adjust for the change in the width of the kayak.

I've paddled the kayak with this set-up quite a few times this summer and it's very comfy as well. Between the foam under my heels and the ability to use the pegs and the tubing for foot support, it's a comfortable and supportive set up. Just one more way to do it...
