: Well after putting this method of building hatches through multiple
: tests, they have proven very well. I have been on multiple
: camping trips, put them through some nice breaking waves, and
: have done a lot of rolling and still no water. My Objective was
: to build something that is flush, small flanged, light, strong,
: inexpensive, and most important watertight! The latch is made of
: abs and stainless steel components. The flange is actually
: backward than most ways of building hatches which makes it work
: so great. I do have a temporary piece of foam on them now but it
: has held up great so I just might not change it. I had a lot of
: intrest in them at the RedFish 13th Annual West Coast Wooden
: Kayak Rendezvous so I figured that I would post them here as
: well.

That's a beautiful boat, and I like your method of holding and adjusting the stations on the strongback.
You may want to reconsider the name "Seabum". This from Wikipedia: Sebum is made of fat (lipids), wax, and the debris of dead fat-producing cells. In the glands, sebum is produced within specialized cells and is released as these cells burst... Seborrhoea is the name for the condition of greasy skin caused by excess sebum. Sebum is odorless, but its bacterial breakdown can produce odors. Sebum is the cause of some people's experiencing "oily" hair, as in hot weather or if not washed for several days. Earwax is partly composed of sebum.
