Unless you are over white sand the water will be darker than the top side and your window will be a mirror for the most part unless they put a black cloth over their head. Better yet get them some goggles and teach them how to get in and out of the boat. I ddi that with my kids when they were younger and snorkeling was their favorite part of kayaking.
