No cloth

The first boat I built was a Cape Charles 17 (CLC) probably 20 years ago?

Anyhow, it called for no glass cloth other than taping the seams inside and out. You just epoxy coated the boat. My brother still has that boat and I use it every now and then.
Like most 1st timers you tend to over build so it weighs around mid 40s. 3mm deck and 4 hull. My point is other than taping the seams, you really don't need glass over the plywood.

Later I built a S&G rolling kayak, same construction- very light maybe mid 30s. 3mm deck - 4 mm hull. On that one I just used 4 oz glass cloth for the seams. A bent wood coaming will also cut down weight over a stacked plywood coaming.
