Good advise about having a quick release and enough distance between that the towed kayak can't ride the same wave as you are on.
If you run the rope to the towed kayak throught the bow grab loop back to and around the cockpit of the towed kayak and tie off the loop somewhere between the front of the cockpit and the bow, you can cut down on some of the yawing and wandering bow.
