Here's a new twist on wrinkles in a nylon skin. I bought the 950 denier from the Skin Boat School and noticed a slight discoloration when a was soaking it with water. The skin was draped over the frame and as the water soaked into the skin and moved down the side, the leading wet edge had a brownish tinge -- there was something in nylon. So, I grabbed a big plastic bin and soaked and rinsed the nylon several times. Soaking did result in an oily sheen over the top of the water in the bin. Taking it out, I noticed wrinkles that I'd introduced by agitating the nylon in the bin but thought they'd disappear when I stretched and sewed the skin. They didn't. And, they didn't disappear after repeated soaking and ironing.
So, just a warning to anyone that might try something similar...
