::PatrickC....Yea the Mosquito Lagoon is a great fishing and kayak touring area on the northern end...We have a house just before the entrance to CANVERNAL SEASHORES NATIONAL PARK....Lots of manatees in the summer all around the house...wonderful kayaking around them all summer long...I do alot of fishing both kayak and in a flats boat around all the islands and the old Intercostal Waterway....Lots of reds and trout in the area....I use artifical baits only..and believe I have just as much luck as I do with live bait...except for the for the monster red fish..they like the real thing.....next time your in the area, get your kayak out around the north end of the Lagoon and enjoy the manatees, dolphins, birds and all the fishing..you won't be disappointed....happy kayaking......Gordon
