I am gluing up some 1/8" cherry to use as a deck in a Wee Lassie. I recalled a clamp that i learned many years ago from a colleage when I was teaching. It is called the "Spanish Luthiers clamp". I is very inexpensive and it allows you to glue up several very thin pieces of wood edge to edge. I have used waxed paper here, but I will use packing tape on the bottom strips and the wedges next time. I consists of three lower battens, three wedges and some string. Pieces to be glued up arranged on the lower battens and the glue applied tot he edges. Then the string is wrapped around the battens in a figure 8 pattern and finally the wedges shoved into the figure 8's.
