: wrapping the string. Ergo, the pieces need to be accurately
: jointed. When you are dealing with 24" long pieces, you can
: joint them with a block plane. In this picture there are eight
: pieces being glued up at one time and the panel came out nice,
: with minimal sanding. It has been about 20 years since I last

- I disagree. There are at least 20 cords across the piece all exerting edge to edge pressure. With a modest 20# of tension that's 800 # of edge to edge pressure, and no problem obtaining more if necessary. I assume there's some kind of separator like wax that's not visible.
