Yep! I agree with all you and everyone else says. And I know you didnt go to the site nor look at the youtube videos, cuz I didnt at first either, and i had the same reaction. But I have perused all the material, spoken to the designer, and bought the plans. He's resawing with this design, fer heavens sake! I researched and set a base price of around $400 for a bandsaw like this ( Grizzly, Home Depot, Craigs List) and frankly, it aint much less to build one. So I initially scrapped the idea. But i've been able to gather most of the materials for free, and I have no particular time frame attached to the project. And who wouldnt want to say they built a wooden bandsaw? If its no good, okay it was fun to do, i'll get another. From what ive seen its at least as good as anything i could afford and probably better in many ways. Ive been working with wood and metal all my life, and I aint afraid to redesign what I dont like...Aint like a kayak, where im on shakey ground changing designs!
