I too made a Gilliom bandsaw, but the 18" floor model. I probably built it around 1975 - it was a fun build. Gillium supplied full size templates and all the metal pieces. At the time I could go to my local lumber yard and buy clear, dry, old growth fir. What beautiful wood. The backbone of the floor model is 2x6. This one has two speeds, so you can use it to cut steel as well as wood. The only tricky part is stretching the tires onto the wheels so that you don't have any runout.

Even at the time I could have bought a commercial saw of the same size for the same money. Still, as crude as it is, it has sawed a lot of wood and metal for me over the years.
