The traditional loom is quite a bit larger. Mine are a happy medium between a regular paddle and a traditional loom. The measurement I strive for is to be able to just touch thumb to forefinger at the shoulder. A regular paddle is normally round. I prefer an oval shape that transitions smoothly into the blade. This just feels more comfortable to me.
