...a week of working out of town in Red Deer, AB and all I can think about is speeding home, hugging Linda as I race past her into the garage and start glassing the kayak. All I wanted was to basically spend Saturday and Sunday getting sticky and dusty with epoxy. Not everyone's idea of a well spent weekend but it is mine. I check the job board in the shop and realize that I am gonna have to go to Kamloops, BC to start the next job and we would be leaving early Sunday morning. That meant I would have only one friggin day to do the final sanding and shaping, glass and glue then pack to head out of town all too soon. Linda very kindly let me sand the kayak knowing our time would be so limited (she does have an understanding heart). I tried to convince her that I could get the glassing done in one hour...she didn't bite: went on some kind of crazy rampage about me not loving her, that I cared more about my mistress than I did her. Her facial expressions went from anger to frustration to disappointment to stubborn refusal to let me live in peace if I chose the mistress. I sighed, hemmed and hawed, promised it would only be one hour (no lie, I can glass a hull properly in one hour), spoke sweet nuthins in her ear about how much she would totally love this little boat if I could jussssssssst get her glassed...but in the end I gave in and spent the time with her. Now I am planning on how to glass the kayak inside AND out in one day to make up for so much lost time with my baby. Sigh!

So here I am, sitting in yet another hotel, wishing I was home with my mistress (that would be the kayak), dressing her up to look fine. Sigh! I am gonna lose 8 days to work when I could be home building. I DO NOT need a new job...I need a lottery win. What about Linda you ask? She will be fine, she might not like the time I spend with another woman but I promised her she will love my mistress as much as I do. I think I am right, she will love her...for now...I gotta do what I gotta do.
