Heat gun, leather gloves (heat gun gets the glass hot) and pliers to pull with should remove the glass ok. Sanding is a pain, but the excess should be easy enough to remove, though time consuming. Getting it to bare wood though won't be easy, the epoxy tends to soak into the cedar so getting it all down to bare wood may well not be possible.

Oh yeah, bucket of water with a towel in it, pretty easy with the heat gun to get the surface too hot and it's nice to be able to cool it off quickly, safer too.
