Thanks for the inspiration! I had not thought of also using plywood for the gunnel/shear strake. Presents some intriguing benefits, especially where the desired shear line can't readily be bent on with dimensioned lumber and could bet cut to shape instead. This concept could be very useful in not only the Rangeley I'm developing, but also on SOF adaptations of traditional craft like Adirondack Guide, Pea Pod and Gunning boats.
