We had sustained winds of 45 knots and gusts over 65 knots. Lost power around 4:30pm. Storm surge raised the river 6 feet above the full moon spring tide. We are 20' above sea level so it wasn't that close. The river in front of the house is very sheltered so no waves to speak of.
When we woke up today the power was still out so we dropped the canoe in and paddled out to the beach off Bluff Point (near where Meet at the Beach is). The surge over-topped the beach depositing a lot of new sand. By the time we got back the power was on.
